Two can’t-miss trunk shows at Andria Bird Bride.
By Jennifer Steffy Swanson
We love (l-o-v-e) trunk shows as should every bride-to-be. If you’ve started dress shopping, you know that you can’t gauge how a dress will look on you by the way it looks on someone else or a hanger. Because bridal salons can’t stock every dress by every designer they carry, they host trunk shows on a revolving basis to feature designers’ latest collections and a larger selection of gowns. Trunk shows are your chance to see how that dress you’ve been admiring online looks on your body (for better or for worse, but at least you’ll know). Next month, Andria Bird Bride in Newport is hosting two trunk shows that should be on your calendar if you’re still dress hunting. (Remember: Appointments are required.)
May 1-31: Jillian Fellers trunk show
Jillian Fellers is a Nebraska-based designer who established her line in 2012. Her style is soft, romantic and a tad vintage. There are two reasons why this show is so special: First, it’ll be around for the entire month of May (thanks, Andria Bird!), so there’s no excuse for not checking it out. Second, this is a designer Andria Bird doesn’t regularly carry in her store and one you can’t find elsewhere in Rhode Island. In other words, May is your only chance to see, touch and try on this beautiful collection.
May 15-17: Nicole Miller, fall 2015 collection
Modern, sophisticated and figure-flattering, Nicole Miller bridal collections always give us butterflies. The fall 2015 collection is filled with romantic crepe de chine, dramatic backs with crisscross details, eyelash lace and curve-hugging sheaths. The designs are simple and gorgeous, which is exactly what we love about Nicole Miller.
