Sheila Konis and Dana Medeiros of Bristol, Rhode Island, are set to wed November 28, 2021 at Bittersweet Farm in Westport, Massachusetts.
How We Met
A normal January day turned out to be a special one when we met at a local pharmacy in Westport, Massachusetts, where Dana works. I was up in that area to visit a local gift shop on the same road. I decided as I passed by the pharmacy to inquire about a medical alert system for my Mom. They had one advertised on their marquee out front. I walked in and the two of us locked eyes immediately. He asked if I needed help and I told him what I had come in for. As he was explaining the system, the two of us couldn’t help smiling at each other. As he says of that first moment, “I knew my life would never be the same again.” I felt the same way!
That was almost six years ago! Our life hasn’t been the same since that first day. In these years, we have traveled to beautiful places in and out of the country. We have had many adventures! We look forward to more together as husband and wife.
Our Proposal Story
On September 12, 2020, we traveled to New Hampshire to hike up Mt. Willard. Once at the top, Dana called me over to a private area where he said the view was better than what we were seeing with the crowd. As we took in the view, he started talking about the past five years and all we have experienced together. Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee asking me to be his bride. I was so surprised! I said, “Of course I will!” After the moment passed, he climbed over to the crowd at the top. He told them he had just proposed to his girlfriend (who said yes!) and asked if someone would take a photo of us. The crowd started clapping and giving us well wishes. A professional photographer happened to be there taking pictures of the view. He had us recreate the proposal to get these wonderful shots which he emailed to us. The timing was perfect in every way!
