What began with a friend request and a heartfelt first date soon grew into a blended-family romance, sealed with a holiday proposal.

The Meet Cute: The pair met on Facebook; Courtney’s sister had tagged her in a post of Donald’s, where he was talking about dating in 2024. He later sent her a friend request before reaching out in Novemeber. The first date took place right after Valentine’s Day, where they talked the entire dinner sharing similar stories about their respective children. The snow was coming down after dinner, so Donald drove Courtney home and walked her to the front door. Before she stepped inside, they shared their first kiss in the snow.
The Proposal: During a Christmas family photo shoot including Donald’s daughter and Courtney’s son, Donald surprised her with a ring and the big question.
