Rosalie Sciabarrasi and Daniel Codrington finally said “I do!” in at the Wyndham Newport Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island over Labor Day Weekend.

The Meet Cute

Daniel is from Bloomfield, CT and Rosalie is from South Kingstown, RI. They now live in West Hartford, CT.

Rosalie: Daniel and I met in Pensacola, Florida while in college. We were friends for a while before we officially started dating our junior year. Luckily, we both lived in New England so we were nearby even on school breaks. After graduating, we continued dating long distance for a few years while Daniel pursued a doctoral degree in physical therapy and I started my career in Rhode Island.

The Engagement

Daniel had been planning a surprise proposal for months. He had all of our family and friends in on it. He had my sister and friends take me out to dinner, and he “couldn’t make it” because he “had a meeting” that night. After finishing our meal, my sister suggested we go down the road to Hazard Rock to watch the sunset. It’s not an unusual sunset spot, so I was not suspicious. We parked and started our walk toward the water when I noticed candles and rose petals on the ground. I looked up, and there he was, standing on the edge of the rocks with roses and a ring! I spun around and quickly said “I’m getting engaged!” I threw my purse at my sister and made my way down toward the water. I was totally shocked! (P.S. We interviewed the sweet couple last year! Check out their full story here.)

The Planning

Spend the money: Don’t go cheap on vendors or try to do everything yourself, just spend the money so you can have your dream wedding day without worrying about a thing.

The Highlights

Spending time with friends and family.

Feeling like celebrities the whole day.

Having a live painter to capture the moment.

The coffee cart to keep everyone going.

The photo booth kept people entertained all night.

My mid-wedding day hair cut was very exciting and a surprise to everyone at the reception.

The Advice

Do a first look so you can spend the entire day together. Make sure you get pictures with all your family members. Don’t rush, enjoy the wedding from beginning to end because it will fly by!
