How We Met

Jonny and I met our freshman year of high school. We were really good friends before we decided senior year that we would be together. We quickly got pregnant and had our son the December after graduation. Like most young parents, we just didn’t give our relationship our all. We broke up and got back together for many years but it just never worked — until the last time we tried. We knew we had to give it our all and we did. Our son, Landon, was so happy to have his parents back together. We got engaged August 2019 and planned for a wedding in June 2021.

The Planning

Unfortunately, COVID happened right when we were planning to tie the knot. So the planning was, well … hard! But my aunt (who was our officiant) helped in any and every way she could. We finally decided to postpone the wedding for June 18, 2022 and I’m so happy we did. We chose McGovern’s On The Water because it was absolutely gorgeous! I knew all of my ideas and visions would just come to life there and they did. They included so much in the wedding package for the price, and it was too good to pass up.

A Fairytale Day

Every bride’s dream is to have a low humidity day. It wasn’t hot out at all which is rare in June. Our son, Landon, was eleven at the time. He walked me down the aisle with my father. That was such a special moment for me. His father and I have worked so hard to beat the odds being teen parents and be able to get married twelve years later. My aunt was absolutely incredible as the officiant, it was like she’s been doing it for years and that was her first time.

The Celebrations

The day went by so smoothly. The food was delicious and it didn’t stop coming, course after course! Everyone was so full. My hair and makeup was perfect. My photographer was amazing and captured the most beautiful shots. Our videographer was a rockstar. I wanted our video to have a home video feel and she did just that. Now as far as the music…we danced all night long! Andres was incredible. No one was sitting. The wedding went an hour longer because we couldn’t stop dancing! It was the most beautiful day.
