What Julia thought was a graduation trip to Bermuda with her family and boyfriend Kyle became the ultimate surprise.

The Meet Cute: Julia and Kyle are high school sweethearts who became close their junior year in 2018. They went from having every single class together, to long distance for four years during college (Florida and Massachusetts), to finally moving back home to Rhode Island.
The Proposal: In May 2026, Julia and Kyle joined Julia’s family on a vacation in Bermuda. Julia was under the impression that the trip was a graduation gift, but little did she know it would ultimately be her surprise proposal spot. During the family photo session, Julia’s brother had some solo photos taken to celebrate his college graduation, but it was all an act for Kyle to get down on one knee. “In addition to some of my family already there, we returned to the hotel after the photos and his family and other family members of mine had flown in to surprise me,” says Julia, “and we all celebrated together the rest of the vacation!” The pair will get married in September 2027.
