The Meet Cute

We met through mutual friends during the summer of 2015 between college semesters. We really never expected it to turn into anything serious given that we attended separate colleges about two hours apart— I was at UMass Amherst and Zach was at URI. We began spending time together though and just never stopped. The long-distance effort was definitely worth it!

The Engagement

Zach proposed on the beach in Falmouth, Massachusetts. His sister, eight months pregnant at the time, asked us to take some photos of her with her husband down by the water’s edge. Little did I know, they were in on the proposal plan. After I snapped some pictures of them, they offered to return the favor so we could have some frame-worthy shots themselves. Once they were in front of the camera, that’s when Zach got down on one knee!

The Session

We fell in love with the Narragansett area years ago while Zach was studying at URI. We used to take rides on his motorcycle down Ocean Road to Point Judith, and we had our first anniversary date at the Coast Guard House.

The Wedding Plans

Our wedding day will follow a sort of minimalist theme with some added personal touches. The color palette will be a collection of muted sage green, blue, and touches of blush pink. One of our talented vendors, Floral Fixation, will bring this to life with lots and lots of greenery. Ellie’s will be providing the cake and hosting an ice cream sandwich cart for late night treats. I also plan to incorporate a DIY welcome sign, seating chart and custom table signs. And our brilliant photographer, Sara Drew, will of course capture it all! There are so many aspects we’re looking forward to! Zach is eager to see how he’ll react during the first look, and I’m especially excited to have my dad officiate the ceremony. And, after such a trying year of social distancing because of the pandemic, we are both itching to finally be with all of our closest friends and family members.

Editor’s note: The happy couple married at Harbor Lights in Warwick, Rhode Island on May 20, 2022.
