A proposal so beautifully thoughtful even a Type A planner didn’t see it coming.

The Meet Cute: While Austin and Nicole are originally from outside of Rhode Island, our Ocean State has now become their new home! They first crossed paths at the gym in 2022, and after bonding over their shared love for fitness (and pre-workout), they quickly became inseparable. It’s still up for debate who Austin fell harder for — Nicole or her adorable puppy, Koda — but ever since he met them, they have been an adventurous, hike-loving family. Their love for animals and the outdoors inspired them to host monthly “pack walks” across Rhode Island, bringing together dog owners and their furry best friends. Another one of their favorite shared hobbies is searching for the best local coffee in the morning and the best margaritas at night. And let’s just say, they’re now certified Allie’s Donuts addicts.
The Engagement: As someone who’s extremely Type A and plans even the tiniest detail, it meant the world to Nicole to see Austin plan such a meaningful surprise from start to finish. It began when he told her to get dressed up, then drove her to Beavertail State Park to catch a gorgeous sunset. They walked along the rocks, took in the view, and talked about their love for each other. When Austin offered to take a photo of his soon-to-be bride, he instead dropped down to one knee. The ring, paired with the breathtaking view and the man of her dreams, was enough to make that yes slip out effortlessly.
