Rachel’s bold move at Fish Co was enough for Griffin to know she was the one.

The Meet Cute: Rachel was visiting home when her girlfriends convinced her to go out one night. The girls ended up at Fish Co, and as soon as Rachel stepped inside, she spotted a man with the most amazing smile and thought, “Wow, who is that?” She ran straight to the bathroom and asked everyone in there — friends, strangers, whoever would listen — how she looked because she needed to talk to that guy. After taking a deep breath, she walked out and straight to the boy with the cute smile. “Hi, I’m Rachel, and you are cute,” she said without thinking. It felt easy and right that ever since that night, they have been inseparable.

The Engagement: It was a rainy day when Rachel and Griffin were visiting Griffin’s family in York. Before dinner, the couple along with Griffin’s mother and brother decided to grab a cocktail. Rachel is not much of a drinker, so one was enough for her. By the time they returned home, she was ready for a nap. But Griffin insisted on going for a walk on the beach. Rachel jokingly asked if he was planning to propose, to which he quickly said no. She laughed and curled up for a nap.

Moments later, right before dinner, he asked again. But this time she said yes. They walked along the shore and sat on a bench overlooking the ocean. Something caught the corner of Rachel’s eye, and she could have sworn it was someone, that looked like Griffin’s mom, hiding in the bushes. Without saying anything, she turns and sees Griffin get down on one knee. Shock, laughter, and tears overtook the joyous moment. It turns out it was actually Griffin’s mother hiding behind the bushes, taking pictures of the surprise. After their walk, he surprised her one last time with his family across the street.
