These Southern college belles headed home and got hitched! Their annual Mt. Kearsarge hike in New Hampshire turned into one to remember. The couple wed on Nov. 5, 2022, at Smith Farm Gardens in East Haddam, Conn.

The Meet Cute

We met in college in North Carolina, through mutual friends in Greek life; a classic Southern school love story. Our November wedding marked approximately six-and-a-half years together.

The Proposal

We knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, but weren’t sure at what point in our lives an engagement would feel important to us. It was a total surprise — which for anyone who knows Bliss knows how difficult that is to pull off — that took place around Lake Sunapee, NH, on Mount Kearsarge. This is a hike that we love to do every summer and now it has even more meaning for us. Neither of us remember exactly what was said, but we both know it was one of the most exciting moments of our lives, and we practically sprinted back down the mountain to tell everyone.

The Engagement Shoot

The Mustang has become our dream car for us after this shoot! However, the one in our shoot was rented for the day. Our phenomenal photographer, Kirsten, had suggested photos in front of some classic boats in the Newport Shipyard, which was brilliant. We found that the same classic boat company rented classic cars, so we acted on renting one for the evening immediately. It was the perfect symbolic activity as we’re always on the go. The shoot, the car, the sunset, everything about that night was a dream come true — we didn’t want it to end.
