Having their wedding at Dye House in Providence helped make their dream day — with a laidback cocktail party vibe — a reality.
The Meet Cute: Despite attending the same middle school and high school, living ten minutes away from each other in Higganum, Connecticut, Zack and Allison didn’t cross paths until they were in college. Though they attended different universities, the two spent their summers in their hometown with mutual friends and at the local clam shack where Allison worked. Once the pandemic hit, the couple reconnected once again in their hometown, where they turned their friendship into a relationship.

The Engagement: With the skyline looking over them at the Pedestrian Bridge in Providence, seeing Zack get down on one knee made Allison’s smile brighter than the sun that day. After exclaiming “Yes!” to the love of her life, the couple walked to CAV Restaurant — one of their favorite spots in Providence — where both families waited to celebration their union.
The First Looks: Initially, Zack was hesitant about having a first look. Once the moment arrived, however, it was exactly what he needed. This intimate and beautiful part of their day has become one of their most cherished memories. Allison had also always envisioned sharing this special moment with her father, and was grateful for the moments leading up to it.

The Theme: Set in the Creative Capital, the couple chose a venue that reflected everything they admired about the city. “[The Dye House] has such a local flair with the best aesthetic,” says Allison. The perfect venue combined with a laidback cocktail party vibe made their dream wedding become a reality. Allison’s bridesmaids added to the joyful atmosphere with bright and playful shades of pink; the focus was to make sure they felt confident and comfortable in their own styles. The vibrant, fun colors combined with the delicious food, lively band and the Elvis tribute performer allowed the newlyweds to celebrate and dance the night away without a single care in the world.

The Advice: “Plan the wedding you’d dream of attending,” Allison says. “While everyone will have their opinions, ultimately, it’s your wedding day. You don’t have to follow their advice. Design an event that reflects your personal style and preferences. Embrace the moment, breathe deeply and savor every detail. Oh, and don’t forget to eat!”
