Victoria and Victor’s beloved pets — their cat George and dog Oliver — played important roles in their intimate at-home proposal.

The Meet Cute
2020 — a year that turned the world upside down — brought these two together. Victor, a thoughtful and creative soul with a love for horror movies and art, swiped right on Victoria, a warm and vibrant spirit who lights up any room with her humor and joy. Their first date at Starbucks is where Victor’s quiet energy intertwined with Victoria’s bubbly energy.
From that day, their connection grew stronger as Victor introduced her to the beauty of quiet nights filled with creativity and stillness, while Victoria brought laughter and lightness into his world. That same year they moved in together, creating a home filled with love, peacefulness and a now-shared responsibility for their cat, George. By 2023, Oliver, a joyful and energetic Labrador, came into the picture as well.
The Proposal
On March 16, 2024, Victoria attended a family birthday cookout with their playful Oliver in tow. Victor stayed behind, claiming he had work to catch up on — but in truth, he was secretly setting the stage for a moment they’d both remember forever.
After a long afternoon of dogs, laughter and chaos, Victoria and a mud-covered Oliver returned home. Not wanting to track the mess inside, she stopped at the dog wash station, which (thanks to Oliver’s love of water) left her nearly as soaked as the dog.
Finally arriving at their apartment, she was met with Victor urgently calling for help, saying their cat, George, had gotten sick in the living room. Tired, drenched and still smelling like wet dog, Victoria grabbed cleaning supplies and walked in — only to find that there was no mess at all. Instead, along the wall were glowing tea lights in little bags, delicately arranged to spell out: “Will you marry me?” Rose petals lined the floor around them.
Stunned, she turned around to find Victor down on one knee, their favorite song playing in the background and a ring in his hand, which symbolized their love and the life they’d created together. She gasped, cried, and without hesitation said “Yes!”
The two are set to be married in February 2026 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
