The Meet Cute: It was at a house party on an April Friday night that Emma and Ben first bumped into each other. In an attempt to be cute, Emma grabbed a squirt gun she naively thought was filled with water, and sprayed Ben’s face — only to realize it was actually vodka. They spent the rest of the night in the bathroom trying to flush Ben eyes with tap water. Needless to say, that was not the last time they saw each other.
The Engagement: After months of begging Ben to do a family photoshoot with their two rescue doodles, he finally surprised Emma with a Christmas card session in Narragansett, the place where they first met. Their photographer was Emma’s former sorority sister; someone she’d been dying to work with. Ben proposed in the same spot they used to share Sunday morning coffee and bagels before diving into another week of classes and exams. The moment couldn’t have been more picture-perfect. Well, except for the few humbling moments where Emma took a tumble, their oldest dog discovered a dead seagull to roll in and their youngest threw up on the ride home.
