With the recent release of the The Great Gatsby, the romantic look of the 1920s is on every bride’s mind. With regard to your wedding flowers, a monochromatic palette of all white or soft pink flowers (think peonies — last year’s flower-of-the-year according to Bridal Guide magazine) is exquisite. Since the peony is only available in May and June, the garden rose, which has the same delicate look, may be another option. Brides are also choosing bouquets containing green hydrangeas, sweet pea, Queen Ann’s lace, stephanotis with pearl pins and tall ostrich feathers. To add more glamour, look for vintage brooches at estate or yard sales to pin on the handle. While treasure hunting for jewelry, look for vintage milk glass in assorted sizes and shapes to use as centerpiece vessels for reception tables.
