Amanda and Ivaniel are proof that the best love stories don’t always begin with grand gestures; sometimes they start with a haircut and a really good sense of humor.

The Meet Cute: In May 2021, Amanda was doing what she does best: Making others glow as a talented esthetician. One afternoon, her cousin casually showed her a picture of a fresh haircut, nothing out of the ordinary, just a proud best friend showing off their buddy’s new look. But Amanda saw something more. Eyes locked on the photo, she asked who the man with the haircut was. “That is Ivaniel,” her counsin said with a smirk. The picture in question would soon become Amanda’s favorite love story. Her cousin — the Cupid of the century — wasted no time passing the word to Ivaniel’s cousin, ultimately planting the seed.
Shortly after, Ivaniel, armed with charm and curiosity, slid into the esthetician’s DMs asking, “Do guys get discounts?” And with that, a spark was lit. What began with a playful message turned into deep conversations, laughter and an effortless connection.
The Proposal: Ivaniel had asked Amanda to get dressed up as he was taking her to dinner. They both got very dressed up and on their way to the restaurant, they made a stop at a little gazebo with twinkly lights that shined as you walked through them. Amanda found it odd they were stopping, but went along with it. Once they reached inside the gazebo, Ivaniel asked Amanda to turn around for a picture. When Amanda turned the other way, she saw Ivaniel down on one knee with her ring. Ivaniel gave an intimate speech about their relationship and how much he loved her, before popping the big question. Amanda said yes immediately before admired her new ring.
The couple will get married on October 17, 2026 in Riviera Maya, Mexico at a cenote.
