Sharla and Ed are living proof that love comes around when you are least looking for it.

The Meet Cute: Sharla and Ed first crossed paths in 2018 at a mutual friend’s birthday party. Unfortunately, timing wasn’t on Ed’s side since Sharla had just been ghosted and was in her “anti-men” era. So, when he approached her, she had nothing to give except a dry “hi.” He was kind enough to walk away, even though she secretly texted her friends about how cute he was yet how terrified she was to talk to him.
Fast forward to 2022, ironically at the same friend’s birthday party, they saw each other again. This time, Sharla was herself again and open to getting to know him. The two ended up talking the entire night, and the very next day, Ed asked her out on their first date!

The Engagement: After a weekend getaway to Martha’s Vineyard, where Sharla thought the proposal might happen, the couple headed home. On the way, Ed suggested to stop at the Heritage Gardens & Museum. It poured the entire drive, but as soon as they arrived, the rain cleared, and the gardens were filled with blooming hydrangeas, just like when they celebrated their first anniversary.
Ed pointed at one of the flowers that matched Sharla’s umbrella and asked to take a picture. When she turned around, she was surprised to see him down on one knee. Through tears, she said yes — unaware that her best friend was hiding nearby, secretly capturing the entire moment.
