The Meet Cute: Drew and Rachael’s story goes back to their high school days in Syosset, NY. Shortly after they began dating, they visited Newport regularly until it became their go-to getaway spot. With Rachael’s parents vacationing there for over thirty years, Newport naturally turned into a special place for the pair. Its scenery and charm were unmatched, and it was the only place Drew could imagine proposing to Rachael.
The Engagement: On May 24, 2025, Drew proposed to Rachael at the Newport Harbor Island Resort. After discovering photographers Jamal and Lashana Burley through social media, Drew was captivated by one of their photoshoots at a similar location, with the scenery, setup and attention to detail that matched exactly what he had envisioned. After weeks of planning, everything came together perfectly. With beautiful weather, a stunning backdrop and both parents present, Drew got down on one knee and asked Rachael if they could spend the rest of their lives together.
